Stuck at Home? Here are 5 Fun Ways to Keep Busy.

COVID-19 has most of us staying indoors to protect ourselves and others, and while concerts and overseas escapes are off-limits for now, that doesn’t mean we can’t find other ways to enjoy our free time.

For those of you that are starting to feel a little stir-crazy, we’ve rounded up a list of the best things to do while you’re housebound. These fun activities will keep you entertained no matter how long you’re stuck inside!

1. Catch a movie

A trip to the movies is the Friday night pastime of choice for many of us, but staying home doesn’t mean you have to miss out on your favourite films. Here’s how you can create a drive-in movie theatre in your backyard or hold a Netflix Party to binge-watch your favourite shows with your friends. Pop the popcorn, grab your cosiest blanket and you’re ready to go.

2. Take a trip

A weekend away may not be on the cards for the time being, but why not satisfy your wanderlust with a virtual tour of Rome instead? Experience renowned monuments like the Pantheon and the Colosseum without even leaving your couch.

3. Entertain the kids

With the zoos and malls currently closed for business, we know you’ll be looking for ways to occupy your kids as well. With everything from printable colouring pages of museum collections around the world to an indoor scavenger hunt available online, there’s an activity for everyone to enjoy!

4. Learn to cook from the experts

You may not be able to go out for a three-course dinner, but you can recreate your favourite dishes at home! Join Australian icon Maggie Beer as she shows you how to make the most of your pantry staples in her Instagram cooking class. You’ll be feeling like the next MasterChef in no time – or at the very least, you’ll have something to laugh about later!

5. Break a sweat

We may not always feel like exercising, but the endorphins and renewed energy we get from it are worth the effort! Squeeze in a HIIT cardio workout or do a virtual dance class, all without the pesky drive to the gym.

How have you been keeping yourself busy while at home? Are you going to try out any of these ideas? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
