On Saturday April 13th, First People Recruitment Solutions were proud to attend the Victorian Indigenous Professionals Network (VIPN) Employment Expo held at Melbourne Polytechnic Northcote.
The Victorian Indigenous Programs Network (VIPN), was established in 2015, with a purpose of addressing barriers, helping to bridge and close the gap within Indigenous employment in Victoria. In 2017, they changed their name to Victorian Indigenous Professionals Network to embrace the expanded focus of inclusion, procurement and community engagement within their portfolio.
With ‘Welcome to Country’ being presented and performed by the Djirri Djirri Dance Group, a BBQ held by the Red Cross and door prizes on offer, the day was once again a great success.
As part of 34 employer stalls, First People Recruitment Solutions further developed networks with community and corporates in Victoria, in particular the Northern Suburbs. The expo was a great chance for like minded organisations to come together and talk about our passion of working for and with community.
The expo also provided an opportunity for Indigenous job seekers to learn more about the services that can assist in developing meaningful careers, this is also important to First People Recruitment Solutions as it’s what the business represents for the community.
